ABOUT

Meet Paul Norris.

More than 30 years making dentures for South Australians - dual-qualified, BPS accredited, and the person you'll actually deal with from start to finish.

Paul Norris has spent more than three decades doing one thing, and doing it well: helping people eat, speak and smile with dentures that fit. In an era of dental chains and rotating staff, he offers something increasingly rare - a single, experienced professional who sees you personally, understands your situation, and stays involved from the first appointment to the final fit and beyond.

30+ years as an Adelaide dental prosthetist

Over thirty years in the same field means Paul has seen almost everything a mouth can present - first-time full dentures for someone anxious about the change, long-standing denture wearers who'd given up on comfort, complex partials, and cases other clinics found difficult. That depth of experience is hard to shortcut, and it shows in the results and in how calmly he approaches each case.

Dual-qualified - technician and prosthetist

Paul holds two qualifications that usually sit with two different people. A dental technician is trained in the craft of constructing dentures; a dental prosthetist is qualified to work with patients directly - assessing, measuring and fitting. Because Paul is both, the clinical detail from your appointment feeds directly into how your denture is built. There are fewer hands and fewer hand-offs between you and the finished result.

BPS accredited

Paul is accredited in the Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS), a structured method for making precision dentures, and was among the earlier practitioners in South Australia to adopt it. Accreditation means he's trained in the system's specific protocols and can offer it where it's the right choice for a patient - while being honest about when a well-made conventional denture will serve you just as well.

How Paul works with patients

The thing patients mention most is that they don't feel rushed. Paul takes the time to explain what's happening, answers questions in plain English, and treats people with patience and respect - including those who find dental visits difficult. He works to a simple principle: get it right, don't rush it, and make sure the person in the chair understands and is comfortable at every step.

Credentials

Paul is a registered dental prosthetist and qualified dental technician, and was among the first practitioners in South Australia accredited in the Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS).

The clinic

SA Precision Dentures is at 342 Hancock Road, Surrey Downs, in Adelaide's north-east, open Monday to Friday. It's an easy drive from across the northern and eastern suburbs. Paul is a Medibank and BUPA preferred provider and accepts DVA cards. Same-day repairs and overnight relines are completed in-house at the clinic; a share of full denture and partial fabrication is sent to an external laboratory, which Paul is upfront about rather than overstating what's built on-site.

FAQS

About Paul & the clinic

How is Paul qualified as both a technician and a prosthetist?+

Paul holds both qualifications - dental technician (the craft of making dentures) and dental prosthetist (assessing and fitting them with patients directly). Holding both means the person who measures you is closely involved in building your denture.

What's the difference between a dental technician and a dental prosthetist?+

A dental technician constructs dentures in the lab but doesn't treat patients directly. A dental prosthetist is qualified to work with patients - assessing, measuring, fitting and adjusting. Paul is both, which is relatively unusual.

What makes SA Precision Dentures different?+

You deal with Paul personally throughout - not a call centre or a rotating team - backed by 30+ years of experience, dual qualification and BPS accreditation, in unhurried appointments where things are explained plainly.

What are Paul's qualifications?+

Paul is a registered dental prosthetist and qualified dental technician, and was among the first practitioners in South Australia accredited in the Biofunctional Prosthetic System (BPS).
