Caring for yourself in the first 24 hours
Stick to soft, cool foods, avoid rinsing vigorously, and follow any specific aftercare instructions given after your extraction. Your denture is generally kept in place for this initial period to protect the healing sites, rather than removed and reinserted repeatedly.
