What happens during a denture try-in?

Before your denture is finished, you see and try it in wax form. This stage exists specifically so nothing about the final result is a surprise.

What the wax try-in actually is

The teeth are set into a wax base that represents what the finished denture will look and feel like, without being permanently finished yet. It looks close to a real denture but is still adjustable - this is your opportunity to check and change things before anything is locked in.

What Paul checks with you

• How the teeth look - shape, shade, and how they suit your face
• How your bite feels when the upper and lower teeth come together
• Whether your lips and cheeks feel properly supported
• How your speech sounds with the try-in in place

Why this stage matters

Because the wax version can still be adjusted, this is the point to raise anything that doesn't feel or look right - a tooth shade that seems off, a bite that feels uneven, anything at all. Once you're happy, the denture is processed into its final, permanent material.

What to expect afterward

After your try-in is approved, your finished denture is processed and prepared for your final fitting appointment, where it's fitted and any last adjustments are made.
